Abstract
Almost every foreign substance appearing in the blood and then the body tissues is ultimately eliminated, thereby restoring the original steady state. Elimination includes all the processes concerned in the removal of the substance in the form in which it was introduced or is observed from the compartment in question. This elimination can take place in many different ways, the most important of which are now reviewed.
