Abstract
In earlier chapters we mentioned a complex folding typical of the metamorphic and granitized rocks that forms the cores of deep diapirs. Now we must add that tectonic deformations in all heavily metamorphosed, granitized, and migmatized rocks have a complicated, specific character. The features of the folding observed in the cores of diapirs are thus only a special case of a more generally specific kind of deformation inherent in rocks that have undergone metamorphic and ultrametamorphic transformations.
