Zusammenfassung
Morphologie und Funktion der Blase lassen sich thematisch nicht exakt voneinander trennen, da sich oft die Funktion logisch aus der strukturellen Anordnung der Muskelfasern oder der nervalen Versorgung ableiten läßt. Die klassische Miktionstheorie, basierend auf den anatomischen Studien von Kalischer (1900), ging von einem kompliziert durchstrukturierten M. detrusor und einem unabhängigen Verschlußmechanismus aus, der aus dem glatten M. sphincter internus urethrae und dem quergestreiften M. sphincter externus bestehen sollte. Es wurde angenommen, daß Detrusor und der Sphinkterapparat reziprok innerviert seien (Denny-Brown, 1936). Während das parasympathische Nervensystem eine expulsive Funktion haben sollte, wurde dem sympathischen Nervensystem eine Steuerung des Verschlußmechanismus zugeschrieben. Diese Theorie erlitt schon durch Heiss (1915) einen ersten Stoß, als er nachwies, daß es keinen zirkulären Sphinkter am Blasenhals gibt, sondern daß es sich bei diesen Fasern um dorsal offene Detrusorschleifen handelt.
