Abstract
The belief that diseases are closely related to “Wind and Soil” (Pung-tuo) has prevailed in Korea since ancient times. When we give this term a more modern translation, “wind and soil” relates to environment, which consists mainly of two factors—nonliving and living. Among the former, we may count soil, water, and air; and in the latter, plants and animals. The interrelationship between these two factors comprises the environment.
