Zusammenfassung

Wir verstehen unter der adjuvanten Chemotherapie eine medikamentöse Behandlung, die nach erfolgreicher Primärtherapie — Operation oder Bestrahlung — eingesetzt wird mit dem Ziel, das krankheitsfreie Intervall und die Überlebenszeit zu verlängern. Dem Wortsinn nach sind auch noch andere Definitionen möglich. Die adjuvante Chemotherapie wird in kurativer Absicht angewandt. Sie ist bei Neoplasien indiziert, die zu raschen Rezidiven oder zur Metastasierung neigen und für die eine wirksame Chemotherapie zur Verftigüng steht. Dazu gehören auch die malignen Lymphome.
