Abstract

The efficacy of emergency and disaster medical response depends on the pre-event acquisition of life support capability by lay, paramedical, and medical personnel throughout the involved region. Education research methods were used to develop, test, and improve regional teaching programs in resuscitation and acute respiratory care, with emphasis on self-training methods and materials.
