Abstract
Chemical synthesis — the design and fabrication of new compounds — is the very heart of chemistry. The unique characteristics of laser light sources (mono-chromaticity, tunability, low beam divergence, and high energy fluence) suggest that the use of lasers may offer a considerable number of advantages over conventional methods in the preparation of both old and new materials [1].
