Abstract

The various cell elements, which sometimes show considerable morphological differences at the various ages, will be dealt with layer by layer, proceeding from the inner limiting membrane towards the tapetum. Figure 1 shows an overall view of the retinal structures and layers of the mature retina and the neighbouring choroid with the choriocapillaris and the tapetum lucidum, as a demonstration of its final state of development.
