Summary
The fine reticulate arrangement of the chorioallantoic capillary plexus was observed microscopically. The gas analyses of blood flowing through the chorioallantois were performed in embryos incubated for 10 to 18 days, and the reactions of chorioallantoic capillary blood with gases were investigated with a microphotometric reaction apparatus. Using the data of the embryonic gas exchange through the chorioallantois, the O2 delivery to the tissues was estimated on the basis of a simple blood circulation model.
