Abstract
Fever is a pathological alteration in the thermoregulatory performance of an animal resulting in an elevation in its deep body temperature to an abnormally high level. This disturbance in temperature regulation is produced by a variety of processes including infection, tissue damage, immunological disorders and some neoplasms.
