Abstract
In order to assess the contribution to anatomy of Dr. Götze in publishing the work Heart and Coronary Arteries, the contemporaneous determinants of human anatomic epochs down to the present are worthy of adduction. Anatomy is well defined as the study of the parts which build up the body and the relationship these present to each other. Through the ages, anatomic knowledge has been applied in two main directions — in art and in healing. The concurrent examination of these disciplines, disparate certainly in respect to their ultimate character, provides, in part, some answers to the vexing delay in man’s acquisition of knowledge of the very essence of his own structure.
