Abstract
The title which I have given to this article may be viewed almost as a contradiction in terms. It is my hope that such a view assumes, not the impossibility of any individual’s combining practicality with vision, but rather the rarity of such a combination — especially when those two qualities are both so strong in a single person that they become two of his most striking characteristics.
