Zusammenfassung

Numerous studies have related certain “risk factors” to the onset of a premature myocardial infarction (= MI) (1, 3, 6, 9, 14, 15). The most important of these are cigarette smoking, systolic blood pressure, and serum cholesterol. Psychosocial factors have also been utilized in predictive studies (1, 6), with conflicting results. Recently, an elevated psychosocial “discord” index was demonstrated to be quite often associated with an elevated risk of myocardial infarction in the near future (11).
