Sektorenförmige, an den Limbus angrenzende Rötung von mehr blau-violetter Tönung. Zu unterscheiden sind die flüchtige (E. periodica fugax) und die mehr dunkelrote, druckempfindliche knötchenartige Form (E. nodularis). Beide neigen zu Rezidiven, die sich über Jahre hinziehen können.
