Zusammenfassung

Die schwerwiegenden, bis jetzt noch ungelösten Probleme bei juvenilen Diabetikern haben verschiedentlich zu Versuchen geführt, die Zuckerkrankheit durch eine Transplantation Langerhansscher Inseln zu behandeln. Entsprechende Bemühungen fanden bisher ihre Grenzen erstens in der Reinheit und zweitens in der Gesamtzahl isolierter Inseln.
