Abstract
While the role of platelets in atherogenesis is still discussed, it is well known that at sites of altered, nonendothelialized arterial vessel wall, platelets play a fundamental role in the evolution of an arterial thrombus (Harker and Slichter, 1974; Hellem, 1970; Harrison et al., 1971; McNicol et al., 1974).
