Regional Intravascular Coagulation and Microthrombosis in Traumatic Brain Lacerations in Man

Platelet Aggregation in the Pathogenesis of Cerebrovascular Disorders

Abstract

The morphologic evolution of traumatic brain lacerations (TBL) in man has been the object of electron microscopic studies by Testa and Giovanelli (1967) and Testa et al. (1970, 1974). Acute TBL and chronic cerebral traumatic scars were examined on a series of microbiopsies performed during surgical operations. The interest of the authors was mainly focused on the role of the cerebral capillaries in the evolution of TBL.
