Genetic Control of Reproduction Sexual Reproduction in Lower Plants

Abstract

The last report on reproduction in this series was given in 1964. In the meantime remarkable progress has been made in some aspects of this topic by studies in lower plants. This review deals mainly with the function of mating types or similar factors, which are held to play a central role in the control of sexual processes. Other aspects of reproduction, such as the control of sexual or parasexual processes, as well as higher plants, will be considered in a later volume.
