Computerized Tomography (Siretom) of Acute Cerebrovascular Events

  • Chapter
Cranial Computerized Tomography

Abstract

The differential diagnosis of cerebro vascular diseases falling under the term “stroke” — of the cerebral infarct and the spontaneous hemorrhage has been based so far on in direct signs. The detection of blood in the CSF or indications of a space-occupying process in the echo encephalogram and angiogram were the clinical symptoms. The information about the localization and extent of these processes was even less reliable. This caused concern on the part of the clinicians with respect to the therapy as these two diagnoses suggest a different therapeutic course.
