Zusammenfassung
Sind mit einem der im vorigen Kapitel beschriebenen Verfahren vollständige Gene mit dem jeweils gewünschten Informationsgehalt gewonnen worden, so steht man, wenn diese gezielt auf andere Objekte übertragen, ja vielleicht sogar für gentherapeutische Zwecke benutzt werden sollen, als nächstes vor der Aufgabe, sie in die in Aussicht genommenen Empfängerzellen einzuschleusen. Dies ist nicht ohne weiteres möglich. Sowohl die Länge der DNS-Moleküle, mit meist etwa 1000 Nukleotidpaaren pro Gen, als auch ihre negative Ladung, die von den Phosphatgruppen herrührt, stehen dem Eindringen durch die Zellwand und die Zytoplasmamembran entgegen. Für RNS gilt entsprechendes.
