Zusammenfassung
Sucht man nach Möglichkeiten, um genetisch defekte menschliche Zellen mit hoher Erfolgsrate zu heilen, so liegt es nahe, Verfahren zu prüfen, die der von Prokaryonten her bekannten „speziellen Transduktion“ ähneln. Wie im VI. Kapitel beschrieben, dienen dabei Bakteriophagen als Überträger von Genen eines bakteriellen Spenderstammes auf einen bakteriellen Empfängerstamm. Durch spezielle Transduktion kann in geeignet gewählten Fällen nahezu jede Zelle einer als Empfänger dienenden, erblich defekten Bakterienpopulation dauerhaft geheilt werden. Bei Säugerzellsystemen ließen sich in analoger Weise vielleicht gewisse animale Viren als Überträger von Genen aus erblich intakten auf erblich defekte Zellen nutzen.
