Abstract
The value of the systems concept is that our comprehension of complex systems is enhanced if we analyse them in terms of the simple properties of patterns. It will now become apparent that there are three aspects of systems analysis which are of particular importance to our understanding of pathosystems. These are systems levels, systems balance and systems control.
