Orthorhythmic Stimulation and Endocardial Detection as a Diagnostic Tool

Abstract

Analysis of excitation and electrical conduction in circumscribed areas of the human heart have been done mainly during open-heart surgery. Boineau et al. [2] analyzed the conduction pathway in WPW tachycardias, Fontaine et al. [5] as well as Spurell et al. [18] in recurrent ventricular tachycardias using epicardial mapping. Small silver electrodes have been used for endocardial registration for the purpose of conduction studies in congenital heart disease [9, 25].
