Systems Analysis on Invertebrates

Abstract

This paper presents the basic ideas used in constructing a model based on the Odum energy circuit language (Odum, H.T., 1971). A flow diagram of the energy flow through the main invertebrate consumer groups is given in Fig. 1. This language is especially convenient for energy-flow specifications, and has the advantage that it clearly defines the function of the system. This is not the case with the frequently used compartment flow diagrams.
