Zusammenfassung

Fortschritte im Bereich der Entwicklungsphysiologie können auf sehr verschiedenen Ebenen erfolgen: 1. Das Auffinden neuer, bisher unbekannter Entwicklungsphänomene oder Effekte. 2. Das Aufzeigen biochemischer und entwickungsgeschichtlicher Fakten, die zwar zu erwarten sind, aber bisher noch nicht nachgewiesen werden konnten. Beides sind Voraussetzungen für die kausale Analyse. 3. Die Aufklärung kausaler Zusammenhänge. 4. Entwicklung neuer Techniken, die sich aus den unter 1–3 erzielten Fortschritten ergeben.
