Abstract

Certain risks are to be expected in surgery of the spinal cord. There are particular situations, however, where serious complications may occur where there is an obvious vulnerability of the cord. In other situations, the vulnerability may be more obscure due to an abnormal vascular supply. This will be demonstrated in the following cases.
