New Clinical Syndromes under Regular Intermittent Hemodialysis

Abstract

Until about 1960, patients with progressive renal failure inevitably died from uremia. Therapy was symptomatic only and prolongation of life to any significant degree was not possible. Within the past 15 years many thousands of patients have survived end-stage renal failure by intermittent hemodialysis treatment.
