Abstract

During the past years experimental cancerology was enriched by such a number of new and interesting findings that the knowledge of tumor pathology and, especially, of brain tumor pathology has been greatly enlarged. The utilization of this knowledge, however, presents some difficulties due to the abundance of new informations. Although the fundamental reflections of ancient investigators seem to be extrapolated to more recent findings easily, the differences between the experimentally produced and the original human brain tumors are so evident that further conclusions are hardly possible. This emphasizes the need of further immediate information about human brain tumors. Tumor culture is well able to provide this information through comparative pathomorphological investigations.
