Abstract

The scintigraphic diagnosis of tumors and other pathological alterations of the brain is based on the disturbance of the blood-liquor-border in the concerned area. Structural alterations of the capillaries in comparison to normal brain capillaries were demonstrated by electronic microscopy (6). As this pathological mechanism is the same in all brain tumors, the possibility of differential diagnosis is limited for the most part. From this point of view meningioma presents less problems than other brain tumors.
