Abstract

The karyotypes shown here were obtained from squash preparations of intestine (male) and spleen (female). The female is heterogametic. The fourth pair of macrochromosomes consists of the sex chromosomes, ZZ in the male, ZW in the female. The W is the largest chromosome of the karyotype.
