Abstract
In his introduction Dr WELCH alluded to three problem areas concerning our understanding of cerebrospinal fluid dynamics and their association to intracranial pressure. To paraphrase him, on the surface these issues appear to be well understood, but to date the intimate details remain if not obscure at least somewhat hazy. These areas concern, first those factors which regulate the secretion of the cerebrospinal fluid, secondly, the relationship of the cerebrospinal fluid to brain and thirdly, the processes involved in absorption of cerebrospinal fluid.
