Zusammenfassung

Unter Klassifikation versteht man zweierlei: primär die Einteilung von Begriffen und ihre Anordnung in einem System; sekundär die Zuordnung eines gegebenen Begriffes zu einem solchen System. Ein System ordnet Teile „zu einem einheitlichen und wohlgegliederten Ganzen, in dem das Einzelne im Verhältnis zum Ganzen und den übrigen Teilen die ihm angemessene Stelle einnimmt“ (Schmidt, 1919). Das Merkmal, nach dem die Einteilung erfolgt, bezeichnet man als Einteilungsgrund. Von einem guten System wird verlangt, daß es vollständig ist, daß der Einteilungsgrund derselbe bleibt, daß die einzelnen Glieder sich untereinander ausschließen sowie daß es stetig ist und Sprünge vermeidet (Schmidt, 1919).
