Zusammenfassung

In Europa leiden etwa 1,5 bis 2,0% der Bevölkerung an Diabetes mellitus (Schiack, 1971). Im Kindesalter tritt die Erkrankung sehr viel seltener auf. Nur etwa 1 bis 2% der in Europa erkrankten Patienten sind Kinder (Krainick, 1960; Drube u. Hartmann, 1965; Rosenkranz, 1967; Lestradet, 1971).
