Therapy of Feto-Placental Insufficiency

Abstract

Maternal urinary oestrogen assay is an accepted method of assessing placental function and foetal well-being. Low values may reflect intra uterine growth retardation (IGR), (1). In apparently normal pregnancy, idiopathic IGR or previous unexplained foetal loss, which may recur, may be related to low fasting blood sugar levels and a flat glucose tolerance curve (2, 3).
