Abstract
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the result of progressive atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries. In the atherosclerotic process, arterial thrombosis is of great importance, both as an initiating as well as a complicating factor. In arterial thrombosis, blood platelets play a key role since they are involved in the formation of mural and circulating thrombi.
