Zusammenfassung

Die bösartigen Geschwülste des Skeletts stellen im Gegensatz zu anderen malignen Organgeschwülsten eher seltene Ereignisse dar. Bei 100.000 Einwohnern muß pro Jahr bei Nichtberücksichtigung der Knochenmetastasen und Myelome mit dem Neuauftreten eines primär malignen Knochentumors gerechnet werden (PRICE, 1962, 1971), d.h. also in Österreich etwa mit 80 solcher Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr.
