Psychosomatische Aspekte der Krebserkrankung

Zusammenfassung

Obwohl die Psychosomatik in zunehmendem Maße Beachtung, ja Anerkennung im Rahmen der Medizin findet (Errichtung von psychosomatischen Instituten und Lehrstühlen, psychosomatischen Spitälern, Abteilungen und Ambulanzen, Herausgabe von vielen Zeitschriften für psychosomatische Medizin), wird doch vielfach der Begriff „Psychosomatik“ verschieden interpretiert, woraus begreiflicherweise Mißverständnisse und im Gefolge davon Widerstände resultieren. Es erscheint daher angezeigt, hier zu unterscheiden zwischen

  1. a)

    Psychosomatik im engeren Sinn, als jener Forschungsrichtung, die sich bemüht, den Einfluß der Psyche auf die Entstehung, also die Pathogenese bestimmter Erkrankungen zu klären und

  2. b)

    Psychosomatik im weiteren Sinn, welch letztere im Geiste der Ganzheitsmedizin vor allem den Einfluß psychischer Faktoren auf den Verlauf der Erkrankung zu erforschen und zu berücksichtigen trachtet. Diese Einteilung scheint eine gute Grundlage auch für die Beschreibung psychosomatischer Aspekte des Karzinoms zu sein.
