Abstract
I should like to propose that a new drug ought to be introduced into clinical practice in two stages. The first step in the case of enflurane has been taken by this congress and the second may be taken after the next ten years, when we shall probably be familiar with all the side effects of enflurane, and finally capable of an adequate use of the drug.
