Abstract

Interest in a detailed anatomical description of the veins of the human brain is of fairly recent date. The general layout of the dural sinuses and of the large encephalic veins that drain into them has long been known, but a more detailed study of the venous system has been made necessary by recent advances in neurosurgery and neuroradiology.
