Zusammenfassung

Der Enthusiasmus vergangener Jahre, mit dem Sekretionsanalysen des Magens betrieben und bewertet wurden, ist einer nüchternen Einschätzung des Verfahrens gewichen. Dies beruht einerseits darauf, daß mit Endoskopie und Morphologie die Existenz von Gastroduodenalerkrankungen wesentlich genauer nachgewiesen werden kann als durch den Nachweis einer pathologisch veränderten Säureproduktion. Andererseits haben sich die Erwartungen auf eine „maßgeschneiderte“Magenoperation auf dem Boden der Sekretionsanalyse noch nicht erfüllt (Baron, 1970). Eine gewisse klinische Bedeutung hat die Sekretionsanalyse dagegen zur Feststellung einer Achlorhydrie bei der atrophischen Gastritis oder einer exzessiv gesteigerten Magensekretion im Rahmen des Zollinger-Ellison-Syndroms.
