Zusammenfassung
Fortschritte auf dem Gebiet der Lungenforschung sind in unseren Tagen oft das Resultat fruchtbarer Zusammenarbeit zwischen Physiologen, Biochemikern, Pathologen, Klinikern und Anatomen. Aber nicht alle diese Wissenschaften können immer die gleichen Erfolge verzeichnen und gelegentlich bleibt eines dieser Teilgebiete gegenüber den anderen in seiner Entwicklung zurück. Ein typisches Beispiel hierzu liefert uns die Lungenmechanik. Viel haben wir in den letzten Jahren über das mechanische Verhalten der Säugerlungen gelernt, aber grundlegende morphologische Fragen in diesem Zusammenhang bleiben noch offen.
