Abstract
Various acclimation patterns of enzymes and of enzyme systems involved in electron transport in fish liver have been published (Reviews: Precht, 1968; Prosser, 1967; Hazel and Prosser, 1970). Measurements of the maximal rate of enzyme activity and of respiration rate have been made under different assay conditions (temperature, incubation time, composition of assay medium) with different test systems (liver slices, liver homogenates, liver mitochondrial fractions) based on different units (wet weight, dry weight, protein, nitrogen).
