Combination Chemotherapy: Clinical Considerations

  • Chapter
Antineoplastic and Immunosuppressive Agents Part I

Abstract

The experimental design for the evaluation of a single agent in cancer can be complex, and the results from different centers vary considerably. The variables involved in the evaluation of combinations of agents, as compared to single agents, increase substantially. Thus, in the construction of clinical trials involving combination chemotherapy, major emphasis should be given to the problem of experimental design.
