Abstract
The development of the shortacting intravenous agents in recent years has led to an increase in the use of general anaesthesia in the dental outpatient department both for the extraction of teeth and to facilitate conservative dentistry and minor oral surgery (Drummond-Jackson, 1971; Doenicke et al., 1968; Dundee and Clarke, 1964; Howells, 1968; Mann et al., 1971).
