Physical Aspects of Soil Water and Salts in Ecosystems

Part of the book series: Ecological Studies ((ECOLSTUD,volume 4))

Abstract

The analytical integration of the differential equation of unsaturated flow with constant infiltration rate at the soil surface is difficult and no solution has been obtained so far. Here we present an approximate solution by linearization the equation of flow. A similar procedure was applied by Philip (1969 a) for infiltration at constant moisture content.
