Soil Animals in Latitudinal and Topographical Gradients of Mediterranean Ecosystems

  • Chapter
Mediterranean Type Ecosystems

Part of the book series: Ecological Studies ((ECOLSTUD,volume 7))

Abstract

Particularly from a structural viewpoint, the litter-soil subsystem in regions having a mediterranean climate is far less well known than the vegetation or the animal populations living in the ground surface and on plants. Almost all the data on community convergences in mediterranean climates pertain to vegetation.
