Zusammenfassung

Hefepilzinfektionen der männlichen Urethra haben in den letzten Jahren stark an Bedeutung gewonnen. Mit überwiegender Mehrheit ist es die Candida albicans, die Sproßpilzerkrankungen im Genitalbereich hervorruft. Es können sich aber auch andere Candidaarten wie C. tropicalis, C. pseudotropicalis, C. crusei, seltener Torulopsis und Trichosporum, vereinzelt sogar Rhodotorula in der Urethra ansiedeln (Shevlyakov, Söltz-Szöts, Thurner). Der Häufigkeit wegen werden alle diese Infektionen vielfach als Soormykosen bzw. als Candidamykosen bezeichnet und in der folgenden Abhandlung wird auch diese Bezeichnung beibehalten.
