ALGOL Program for the Computation of the Rittmann Norm

  • Chapter
Stable Mineral Assemblages of Igneous Rocks

Part of the book series: Minerals, Rocks and Inorganic Materials ((MINERALS,volume 7))

Abstract

The manual computation of the Rittmann norms is rather time-consuming; the whole algorithm was therefore programmed for electronic computers. The purpose of this program is the computation of the normative mineral association of a volcanic or plutonic rock on the basis of the Rittmann norms and the output of these results.
