Zusammenfassung

Die Pagetsche Knochenerkrankung (Ostitis deformans) ist ein chronisches Leiden, das durch lokalen Knochenabbau eingeleitet wird. Diesem Abbau folgt eine ungeordnete, überschüssige Knochenneubildung, die zu weitgehenden Veränderungen im Skelet führt. Außer beim Menschen ist die Krankheit beim Affen nachgewiesen worden (White) und soll auch bei anderen Säugetieren vorkommen.
