Abstract
For more than 15 years we have been interested in the infection of burns. We have studied the bacterial flora of burn wounds and of the hospital environment during the stay in hospital and during antibiotic treatment of severely burned patients. This question becomes more and more pertinent as one has learned, to a great extent, how to bring these patients through the primary shock, but at a later stage the patients often succumb to secondary shock following generalized infections.
